Runway excursions and incursions remain significant risks to business aviation operations. This workshop will focus on how sound decision making can reduce these risks and improve runway safety. Decision making in aviation is shaped by regulatory standards, operator policies, training, leadership, and an individual’s experience and mindset. In this session, we will explore practical strategies to enhance decision making in the context of runway safety, emphasizing the importance of personal accountability in following established procedures. We will analyze recent NTSB final reports, gain insights into how leadership and training can reinforce sound judgment, and leave with actionable strategies to help mitigate the risk of runway excursions and incursions in your flight operations.
