This workshop will focus on accountability at both human and organizational levels, and demonstrate why, together, they are required to stay ahead of the flight and company safety power curve.

Presenters will:

  • Present an overview and application of the Integrated Human and Organizational Performance Model (iHOP) specific to flight and company safety performance.
  • Utilize tangible examples from Part 135/91 aviation accidents – both front-line operators and company management failed themselves, their colleagues, the company and the public.
  • Highlight the difference between compliance and accountability.
  • Provide readily employable methods to move and stay in front of the safety power curve.
  • Put forth competing perspectives that draw participants into the discussion of the combined impact of human and organizational factors.

Participants will:

  • Walk away with a practical understanding of how human and organizational factors, together, contribute to safety performance.
  • Use the iHOP model to evaluate and guide operational investments and priorities with practical tools and approaches already at the disposal of employees and management.
