Founder and President
Jim Hosey is the Founder and President of IAA, LLC providing safety consulting and safety auditing for Corporate Flight Departments. He holds an Airline Transport certificate with over 13,000 hours of flight experience in Military and business jets.
A retired Colonel of the United States Air Force, he served as a C-5 Instructor Pilot, Safety Officer, Chief Pilot, Operations Officer, and Commander of several operational squadrons. He culminated a distinguished 30 year flying career as the Vice Commander of the 439th Airlift Wing, Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts.
Concurrent to his military career, Jim spent 15 years in corporate flying operations with a medium size CFR Part 91 flight department gaining significant experience as a Senior International Captain flying Cessna Citation 650s and Cessna Citation Xs. He was responsible for all the disciplines of the department starting with the Safety Leader, IS-BAO, SMS, and DASSP coordinator. Early on, he was the point-person leading the department through the preparation and audit processes to become the thirteenth company worldwide to achieve IS-BAO Stage III Registration.
Previously to starting his own company, Jim was Director of Safety Management, Baldwin Aviation Safety and Compliance Company working with Part 91, 91K, 135, 121, 125, 133, 145 and EMS Helicopter Operations. He completed his accreditation with the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) in 2010 and is a Safety Consultant and Safety Auditor. As a Safety Consultant he has served on the safety teams of several Fortune 100 companies with the largest being an international 600 person flight department with 53 Fixed and Rotary wing aircraft.
A native from Massachusetts, he currently resides in Riverside, CA with his wife Kelly, also a Colonel and Mission Support Group Commander, March Air Reserve Base, CA.
