How long are the Safety Talks?

Safety Standdown “Safety Talks” are mini sessions that will be 30-45 minutes long and have an additional 10 minutes for Q&A. You can watch previous Safety Talks and other presentations by visiting:

Do I need to register for the Safety Talks?

It is encouraged to pre-register to receive up to date information on each presentation.  On the day of the Safety Talks, you can visit our website www.safetystanddown.com and click on the Watch Live button.

Can you provide the location and dates of Safety Standdown 2024?

Bombardier Safety Standdown will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Wichita, Kansas from
November 12–14, 2024.
 

Can you provide any information on hotel reservations?

The Hyatt Regency Wichita is the host hotel for the event. Staying at the host hotel, will enable you to assist in supporting the event. You will be responsible for arranging hotel and travel to the event. Some benefits of staying on site include: 

  • Complimentary self-parking for overnight guests in the attached parking garage 
  • Guest Room Rates available three (3) days pre/post event based on hotel availability 
  • Complimentary hotel Shuttle to/from Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, Oldtown and Delano Districts.

How much does it cost to attend the event?

The Bombardier Safety Standdown seminar is offered at no charge to our attendees, compliments of Bombardier. It is our way of keeping safety in the forefront. You would be responsible for your travel and lodging expenses.
 

When will registration open?

Registration will be opening near end of August 2024.
 

Who should attend Safety Standdown?

The Safety Standdown seminar is open to any and all professionals in the aviation industry who are looking to turn their vision of a safer, more efficient organization into a reality. The general session presentations are geared to a broader audience, workshops are directed towards pilots, maintenance teams and technicians, crew members, safety officers and managers.
 

Do I have to be a pilot to attend?

No. While some of our presentations are pilot-focused, many others are applicable to active flight crews, maintenance personnel and management.
 

When will the agenda be available?

The agenda will be available prior to the opening of registration August 2024. Sign up for e-alerts to know the date registration will be open or visit the website often.
 

My company does not fly Bombardier products. Am I still welcome to attend?

Yes, Safety Standdown is not aircraft or manufacturer specific. The information presented is applicable to all aircraft. Similarly, it is open to private pilots as well as business aviation and airline flight crews.
 

We would like to bring our whole flight department. Is this acceptable?

Due to limited seminar space, we initially accept up to three representatives per operation from each company. Additional names will be placed on a waiting list and notified if space becomes available.
 

What can I do to reserve my seat if registration is not open yet?

We cannot guarantee a seat until registration officially opens. Please sign up for our email alerts, see “Stay Current With e-Alerts” and we will notify you when registration opens. The earlier you register, the more likely you are to be confirmed for the seminar.
 

I have registered for the event, but have not received a confirmation, who do I contact?

If you have not received a confirmation email within 72 hours of registering, please email info@safetystanddown.com
 

If I register and then cannot attend, may my company send someone in my place?

Yes. Just submit an email to  info@safetystanddown.com. Please make sure you note it is a replacement and identify who is being replaced. Space is limited so it is imperative you contact the seminar office as soon as you know there will be a change.
 

I am on the waitlist. What are my chances of getting in?

Due to the nature of the aviation industry, we do receive cancellations and openings can become available. You will be notified if there are changes to your waitlist status. Please contact us at info@safetystanddown.com if you are no longer interested in being on the waitlist.
 

Is it acceptable to come for half of the seminar?

Safety Standdown has a limited number of seats. In order to maximize the learning experience, we give preference to attendees who can stay for the entire seminar.
 

Will the presentations be available electronically?

We offer materials authorized and provided by presenters on the website. Information for downloading presentation will be provided prior to the seminar dates. Unfortunately, some presentations may not be available electronically due to copyright issues.
 

May I bring my video camera or digital camera?

We do not allow photos or video recording during the general session. General session information will become available on our website after they have been edited, if the presenter has provided approval.  You can use the videos on our website for your own safety meetings.


What if my personal effects are lost or stolen during the seminar?

We encourage you to take all safety measures in caring for your personal belongings. Neither Bombardier nor the host hotel are responsible for lost or stolen goods during an event.
 

May I bring my companies materials to hand out?

No. Safety Standdown is designed to focus on aviation safety training. It is a marketing-free seminar.
 

What is the dress code for the seminar?

Please dress business casual for the event (i.e., dress slacks and polo).
 

May I bring my friends/spouse to the seminar?

To be admitted to the seminar, each individual must register online to attend. The safety training seminar is intended for active flight crew, maintenance technicians, flight operations managers/directors, and safety officers.
 

If my family travels with me, is there entertainment for them while I am at the seminar?

We do not have events planned for people not participating in the seminar.
 

Will I still be able to interact and ask questions through the during the event?

Yes. There will be a time allocated at the end of each Safety Standdown session to ask questions and interact with the speaker.  A texting number will be provided to send in questions to the presenter during their presentation.
 

Are meals included?

A continental breakfast and lunch will be served each day of the seminar. There will be an optional banquet dinner on Wednesday evening.
 

Where do I go to check in for the seminar?

Once you check into the hotel, please check in at the Safety Standdown hospitality desk, to pick up your seminar materials. Look for the Safety Standdown Banners.
 

Live Webcast Information


What technology do I need to attend the online sessions?

The Safety Standdown sessions will be accessible from our website, through your desktop or smartphone browser. For desktop browsers, it is recommended to use either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for the best experience.
 

Who can attend the online sessions?

The Safety Standdown sessions are open to any and all professionals in the aviation industry who are looking to turn their vision of a safer, more efficient organization into a reality.
 

Are the online sessions going to be recorded to view after, if not can I record them myself?

The Safety Standdown sessions will be recorded and available for viewing at your leisure on the Safety Standdown website, following the broadcast.
 

Do I need to have a webcam for the online sessions?

No. A webcam is not required to attend the Safety Standdown sessions.
 

Do I need a particular software for the online sessions?

No. Only a web browser is needed to access the Safety Standdown sessions.
 

How do I log into the online session the day of the event?

On the day of the Safety Standdown Webcast a Watch Live button will be assessable on our website.  www.safetystanddown.com
