Aviation is a highly regulated industry because of the impact it can have on both the traveling public and all who are below those beautiful airplanes. Policies and procedures provide additional structure around safely achieving operational effectiveness. While we all understand the need for compliance, it can be easily eroded for various reasons. Effectively preventing that erosion calls for more than stronger enforcement or simply trying harder.
