Training in aviation, in every department, is focused on the prevention of accidents, so we don't train beyond a mistake. Mistakes are inevitable and acceptable within the circle of safety, but what happens when layers of decision-making bring an aircraft or decision beyond the parameter of normal operations? What do you do now? This workshop is intended to discuss decision-making in aviation and to bring the conversation into an area that is not discussed; what to do after you've made a mistake. From dispatching errors to the accidental shutting down of engines, we'll take a deeper look into what we can do as a community to think beyond the unthinkable.
