From the front desk of a fixed base operator in Minnesota, to the captain's seat of a commercial airliner, Erika Armstrong has experienced everything aviation has to offer. During her piloting career, she was a Red Cross, Part 135 on demand charter, corporate, cargo, hazmat and air ambulance pilot and captain, flying 28 different aircraft before going to the airlines where she flew all three seats on the Boeing 727.

Armstrong is also an aviation professor, Marketing Director at Advanced Aircrew Academy, Federal Aviation Association Safety Team (FAAST) representative, and author of A Chick in the Cockpit. In addition to her aviation experience, she has a bachelor's degree in international business and economics from the University of Denver, additional journalism education from the University of Minnesota, and has her master’s degree in progress at Embry-Riddle - but has it on hold while she sends her two daughters to college! Most uniquely, Armstrong has also been able to use the power of social media to gather 500 thousand followers to educate and share the joys of aviation to inspire the next generation of pilots.
