This presentation aims to understand the evolution of cockpit automation to Automation AI taking on a passive to active, some say, assertive role in the Flight Deck. The physical and mental separation of the pilot to the aircraft has never been more evident in today’s modern aircraft. AI is a reality in all areas including the aircraft cockpit. How do crews learn, train and adapt in coexisting with this new reality.

We hope to instill awareness and discussion in understanding the impact of AI and NEXT GEN Automation and how crews MUST learn to interface with the FDA-AI! (FLIGHT DECK Automation- Artificial INTELLIGENCE).
